Trump's Gift - Trump's Grit

At the risk of overstating the already self-evident - on the Character Chart, today’s America, as a whole, is a long way down the rankings from yesterday’s America.  The far too common character failings of contemporary American generations are at least three.  They are these:  Our easy comfort with the status quo, Our penchant for resorting to the normalcy bias, Our discomfort with decisive individualism.

These are failings we see wonderfully and entirely missing in President Trump’s character.  Rather, in him, these flaws are replaced by their absolute opposite realities.

This truly admirable man seems to spend every waking hour involved in a highly energized offensive against the status quo.  Apparently, it is just not in him to “settle.”  Always, it seems his mind and heart are ever gravitating toward the better idea, toward improvements, and toward the best possible way – even when it might seem impossible at first glance.

President Trump is the epitome of a man who has very courageously climbed out of that “life-box of the small paradigm.”  This is that shortsighted view of life which does give us some sense of security and simplicity, but it also often defeats our capacity for greater aspirations.  But this President seems fearlessly willing to brave the greater exposure of a life lived outside the box in order to experience the greater blessing of consummate achievement.

And obviously, such a man could also never be comfortable with the cop out belief that the threat of evil or wrong doing can just be momentarily ignored in the interest of this convenient delusion, “Hey, it’ll probably be OK.”  Certainly, such a default bias seems completely "undiscoverable" anywhere in the Trump thought processes or actions.

On the other hand, the confidence to make courageous, stand-alone decisions that vastly change things for the better have actually distinguished his mind and heart on most every day of his presidency.  He astounds both friends and foes with his quick willingness to just do the right thing, even if the rest of the world is still trying to figure out what that right thing is.

Truly, if ever there was a God-fashioned leader, Donald Trump is one of those for America – and maybe even chiefly so among our other candidates.  Indeed, both of his presidential terms have been a hugely redemptive blessing to this country.  And, both have clearly demonstrated these admirable character traits which allow him to lead so successfully against even monstrous opposition.

President Trump is a true national treasure whose actions bless America every day.  But his greatest gift to his country actually eclipses the good things that he does daily.  His greatest gift to his country is his character example. He has unwittingly shown us what has come to be widely missing from our own.  And, he has clearly demonstrated the wondrous benefits which can accrue by broadly adding back these noticeably missing qualities to American’s composite, rank and file heart.
